Results Delivery Timeframes

Pre-employment, pre-placement medicals

Same day.

Drug and alcohol screen results

If results are needed immediately, OccuMED offer an Instant Drug Test (IDT). This can be supplemented with a regular Drug and Alcohol Screening test for which results will follow the same or next day.
The following service levels are currently provided. If a patient is seen:

  • Before 12pm, the results should be available by end of the day.
  • Between 12pm and 4pm, the results should be available before midday the following day.

Note

These service levels are dependent on third party providers and may vary on occasion.
If you need the Drug and Alcohol screen test results urgently, please let it be known when making the appointment so a note can be made to follow up the result as a matter of priority.
Where a POSITIVE result is received for and a GC/MS confirmatory test is required, please call OccuMED to make that request. Results of the GC/MS test normally takes two days from the time of the request.

We are able to provide (FIFO) accredited staff (including nurses) to test with your equipment.

If you do not have a hearing testing booth we can even calibrate a room to WorkCover requirements and test with our equipment same day.
